Great first day of band camp!!!  Some things to remember:

- If you haven’t gotten a locker or an instrument, Tues. is the final opportunity to take care of that at 12:30.

- All band students will take care of their prep day on Wed. 8/11 between 1pm & 4pm.

***Remember the ideas we discussed, work hard, show respect for yourself and each other, communicate, follow instructions, and have lots of fun.  See you out on the field!!!

It’s Been a Dream Year!!!

2009-2010 has truly been a dream year.  The band accomplished so much at such a high level this year, it is really amazing.  Congratulations to all of you on a spectacular year.  The directors and I look foward to preparing for next year and to the Stevens Band continuing to shine brightly for years to come.  Have a great last few weeks of school and enjoy a well deserved summer break.

The Symphonic Band and Concert Band I will have their Mid-Winter Concert at Stevens HS on Wednesday Feb. 3rd at 7pm.  The Wind Ensemble will have it’s Alabama Honor Band Concert Preview at Stevens HS on Thursday Feb. 4th at 7pm. The programs are as follows:

The Stevens Band students participated in the Region XI Band Auditions Friday (12/4) and Saturday (12/5).   Stevens had 32 students enter the competition.  Over 664 students entered the competition for 196 positions.  All 32 Stevens students who entered this event auditioned, and they are to be commended for finishing the process. It’s been a busy week for the band.  Percussion concert on Tuesday, Orchestra concert on Wednesday, Spring concert on Thursday, Jazz Band performance on Friday, and the Banquet on Saturday.  It doesn’t stop…band tryouts, freshmen band camp, and State Solo and Ensemble are on the way.  Keep checking our blogs for the most updated information.

Hey Band!

Leadership camp is going great!  I’m really happy with the turnout and the participation.  Check out my Leadership Team page for more info.

Symphonic Band rehearsal was great today (Mon. 5/4).  Hairspray is really coming along.  Practice hard on all of your pieces so we’ll have a great spring concert.  Finish up your listening assignment on the Symphonic Band page.

Percussionists have a busy week ahead.  Check the Percussion Info. page for all the detail on rehearsals for the concert and upcoming drumline try outs.

Everyone needs to practice their music for band tryouts.  Remember, auditions for next year’s bands begin Friday May 15 during class.  Be prepared.
